AnacroniA MUD

Anacronia MUD will be back!

Slowly but steadily, the new Anacronia is starting to rise from mkdir lib; gvim -p mud lib/Av4.pm. Its wings are spreading further.
Av4 is rewritten in Perl, using the OO magic of Moose and POE, powered by the wonderful Inline::C, and other CPAN modules such as Compress::Zlib and Net::SSLeay.

The rewrite project started Tue Feb 10 2009, and the barebone server already supports ANSI colors, TELNET negotiations, MCCPv2, NAWS, and MCP simpleedit. Support for other well-known MUD protocols is in the works, in one of the many git branches.

A new command queue parser with weight and delaying already allows to execute non-delaying high priority commands (example: help, score, quit) meanwhile delaying commands (who-list, shout) are executed.

Stay tuned for more news!
